X-Mas Shopping, Wrapping, & Baking

This year I haven't wasted any time when it comes to preparing for Christmas! With Steven gone this past week at a sales conference in Texas, I took that opportunity to finish decorating the house and get all my shopping for him and my family done! I love wrapping gifts early and getting them under the tree as soon as possible! Helps build the anticipation :)
I also was able to get some Christmas baking out of my system! I met with some friends and together we made some sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, and these delicious peanut butter blossom cookies! Yum!! I also made some 2 minute peppermint fudge that was amazing! I'll share the recipe laster this week.
And did I mention I got to hang out with these cuties while baking? Puppies and babies...I don't think there is any combination cuter in this earth.
Speaking of puppies, my favorite Golden pup got an early Christmas present this weekend (because he's spoiled and I don't have the self-control to wait till Christmas), which he destroyed in less than 5 minutes. Those "non-destructible" toys are pretty easily teared apart by him. Any recommendations on a toy a heavy chewer like Huck may not be able to break so quickly? Even the Kong brand he can destroy in minutes...
But overall, it was such a fun weekend and felt very Christmas-y! My favorite!! This is such a fun time of the year and even though I'm a HUGE, ginormous pregnant lady I can't help but sing and dance around the house happy! I love Christmas.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, too with lots of pre-Christmas cheer!

Oh I'm so over the "non-destructible" dog toys. We only buy the nylabone hard plastic bones that weigh 50 pounds so when they drop one on your foot, you are pretty sure you broke a toe, and $20 for a dog toy seems outrageous but I am telling you, they are the ONLY ones that last more than a minute.

So cute!!! And yes our red golden 2 year old boy, is notorious for demolishing these falsely labeled none-destructible toys!! We have switched to lacrosse balls, and raw femur bones (those are in the freezers at the pet stores). He goes CRAZZZY for the bones and it takes him weeks to chew it up! It is not juicy/messy (speaking to the carpets). Just dont let Huck drop one on your foot!! They HURT! lol

Your house looks so festive! Chloe destroys non-destructible toys in minutes too … the only toys she has that have lasted are the Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball (she's had hers for 2+ years!) and a cheap rubber squeaky rhino that we bought at the grocery store that you'd think she'd destroy in 2 seconds but she's had it for over a year. I think she takes extra good care of it because she loves it so much :)

My golden destroys everything!!! This Kong Wubba is awesome - we even got it at target!

Your house looks so warm and cozy! Tank destroys any durable toys we buy and I cannot justify spending $50 on one toy for him so we just buy cloth toys from dollar bins and let him do whatever he wants then we throw it away.

Huck is so cute! Our Irish Setter chews threw all toys within minutes as well. The only thing we have found that she has not destroyed is Kong's big red ball. It's really durable and she chews on it a lot.

Ugh, Mochi has gone though so many toys in his life. But as long as he is happy, I am happy!

Our dog, Rory, has gone through a ridiculous amount of toys but this "fire hose" toy has held up for almost 2 years & is still going strong. She loves it!

Your decorations are too cute! So fun that you were able to get so much done :) It really gets me into the Christmas spirit once I decorate the house and start shopping for presents!
Those peanut butter blossom cookies look delicious!
Huck is so darn cute. I agree with you on those "non-destructible" toys. It's so frustrating to find bits and pieces of them all over the darn house.

Oh, I LOVE the tree and mantle...it looks so homey! :D

If Huck can destroy the heavy, thick, rubber Kongs....he can destroy anything.
