Love, Huck (part 7)

hi grandma. it's your grandpup, Huck.
have you forgotten about me?
i haven't seen you in a few months...
and i've noticed there's been no hotdogs in the mail.
i thought maybe it's because i haven't written in a while
and you forgot how cute i am.

Ha! SIKE! it's impossible to forget how cute I am, huh?!
i bet those sad puppy dog eyes made you feel real guilty though
that trick always works on mom
i use it every saturday morning to make her get out of bed and play with me
...sucker.

anyways, momma says you don't have instadog
which basically means you don't get to see as many photos of me as everyone else does
that's a real shame...so i made you a college of myself and all my cuteness!
you're welcome.
also in case you forgot
(you seem to be forgetful these days)
my birthday is in 4 months.
i'd like hotdogs, carrots, and some sticks.

thanks grandma! you're the best!

p.s. we still have that small furry creature mom and dad refer to as "herschel"
if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone that can get rid of it...
just let me know.
it licks my face.
and it needs to stop.
Love, Huck!

Love, Huck (part 6)

oh, hey Grandma!
it's me again!
your grandpup, Huck!
sorry it's been so long since I last wrote to you...
i've been busy chasing Herschel and squirrels
and getting in fights with raccoons.
since daddy's gone this week i'm the man of the doghouse.
i've been doing daily patrols around the property to make sure momma's okay.
and sometimes i herd Herschel up trees to get him out of harms way.
i'm a really good guard dog.
i use my powerful tail as a weapon.
if anything threatens the safety of my pack, the plan is to swat them with my tail!
if that doesn't work, i'll use a stick!
you see these two guys?
i call them Lucifer and Diablo.
luckily they are no longer an issue since dad put up that protective forcefield around the perimeter of our doghouse.
the one on the left...
that's Lucifer. i'm pretty sure he wants to eat me.
and rumor on the street is that he doesn't even like hotdogs...
he's not dog, grandma. that's for sure.
but don't you worry. i've got things under control.
well, at least when mom let's me stay outside on the lookout...
every now and then she tricks me with peanut butter so i'll sit in front of the x-mas tree.
she obviously doesn't understand that we can't let down our guard!
for even one moment!
oh well...

until next time! Love, Huck

p.s. i'd like hotdogs for x-mas

Love, Huck (part 5)

hi Grandma! it's me, Huck!
did you hear the news??
mommy and daddy got me a new toy!
they call it Herschel, but I call it toy #467.
so maybe when you come to my dog house in November,
you'll get to meet it!

me and toy #467 play all day!
unlike my other toys, it never stops rolling around.
Sometimes we stop for nutrients.
i share my food. even the occasional hotdog!
{unless it has bits of cheese in it}
after we eat, we run and run around!
IT IS SO MUCH FUN!
although from time to time, when I get really excited,
mommy yells at me to "be gentle"
so then I give it kisses!
it doesn't really like my kisses.
neither does daddy...

i get so tired playing with my new toy.
i have to take lots of naps to re-energize.
most days i let it sleep with me
it's really warm and makes this strange noise from the pit of its tummy.
i like that.
truth is Grandma its the most funnest toy mommy and daddy have gotten me yet!
i hope they don't throw it away before you come visit
{mommy throws toys away when i leave bits and pieces of it lying around the house}
so i'll be extra gentle with it so that doesn't happen!

now remember, bring hotdogs and i'll let you rub my tummy.

Love,
{your favorite grand pup}
 Huck

Love, Huck (part 4)

Hi Grandma! It's me again, Huck!
Did you know we moved into a new house?
And I'm the boss man of this kennel too.
Here's my serious boss man face.
I have to protect mommy from the unknown that surrounds us now.
I'm the man of the house until daddy moves in.
It's hard to protect mommy at times though.
She's always walking outside before sniffing.
I do my best though.
{After all, she is the main supplier of hotdogs in this place.}
When she gets careless and silly, I'm stern with her.
I love my new house though!
When the coast is clear, I go outside and eat sticks.
I've never seen so many sticks in my life!
Did I mention these sticks are HUGE!
The only thing better than sticks are hotdogs.
But I'm sure you know that.
Mom says we won't be meeting now until November.
I'm not certain when that is, but mom said I'll be one year old by then!
I wonder what I'll get for my birthday...
HOTDOGS??

Anyways, when you come I'll show you around our kennel.
I know where all the best digging spots are!
Maybe by then we'll have more furniture and we can lay on it together when daddy isn't looking...
Just don't tell him I said that.

Love, Huck

Love, Huck (part 3)

oh, Hi Grandma! it's your grandpup, Huck!
i have a little secret to share with you. mom says I can trust you with this sort of thing...
well, when I was younger I used to be afraid of the water!
i mean..it's wet. and cold.
and there are no hotdogs in there --so really, what's the point?
but now I'm all grown up! {mommy says I'm 8 months old!} and I'm afraid of NUTTIN!
i love to swim!
i told mommy to take a few pictures for proof of my bravery.
so maybe, when you come visit me, you can throw hot dogs in the water..
and I'll go swim to them and catch them and eat them and love you.
while swimming I found a toy boat.
mommy threw the boat to me and I caught it in my mouth!
Because I'm brave.
{see, I use to be afraid to catch things and would run when mom tossed them to me}
but not anymore! I'm 8 months old! And fear NUTTIN!
but then...something terrible happened.
dad thought since I have been so brave lately that I might want to go for a boat ride.
well, he put me in the boat.
i may have been a little afraid...just a smudge though.
a very, very tiny bit of afraid.
like one bite of a hotdog kind of tiny.
when daddy took me out of the boat I ran inside and covered my face...
not my proudest moment.
but you know what would make me feel a lot better??
....
a hotdog.
{i like the kind that have bits of cheese in them best}

Love,
Huck

Love, Huck (part 2)

Hey Grandma! It's your grand pup Huck again.
I ask mom everyday when you're coming to visit. She keeps saying in June.
I'm not sure what June is, but I think it has to do with hotdogs.
Apparently, when you come to visit I'll have a new dog house.
A much larger one with a big fenced in yard! Mom says there's lots of room for me to run around.
At first, I was kinda sad, but then mom told me all my toys are coming with me and that made my tail wag so hard my butt wiggled. So I chased my tail to try to make it stop. It's embarrassing when my butt wiggles...
Hopefully when you get here we'll have a few pretty days with sunshine. Just like my mommy, I love to sunbathe!
Maybe we can soak up some rays together!
I've recently made a new friend. His names Amigo. He likes to poop in my yard and I like to poop in his.
It's a mutual understanding.
He runs really fast and sometimes knocks me over even though he's only about 15 lbs.
I don't mind though. I like having a furry friend.
Also, Amigo usually leaves his toys outside and when he's not around I get to play with them.
Like Mr. Turtle here.
I love Mr. Turtle.
And mommy.
And hotdogs.

Love, Huck (part 1)

Hi, I'm Huck. Otherwise known as:
Huckleberry
Huckster
Huckleman
Huckles
Huckles - Chuckles
and Little Man

I don't mind all the names mom calls me --because she gives me treats.
And sometimes hotdogs.

Apparently, I have a grandma. I don't know what that is. But mom says she likes to hear stories about me, so I thought I'd tell grandma a thing or two about me myself...

So hey Grandma, I'm your grandpup. And I'm really strong.  So strong that I can pull a boat.
See?...
King of the boat.
Well, I can't pull it very far because I'm still a kid, ya know? Mom calls me a baby. I'm not a baby. I just get tired sometimes and have to rest.
Oh, and grandma, I really like to chew rope. So if you have any extra laying around your doghouse you can send it over here.
And when you come to see me in June. You should bring me hotdogs.
Just a suggestion...
I hope you like me. Mom says you will.
I'll write again soon.

Love,
Huck

PS. Don't forget the hotdogs.
